21 Savage could be in very big trouble, as he was taken into custody by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, who claims that he is actually a citizen of the United Kingdom who remained in the United States after his visa expired.
“His whole public persona is false,” an ICE spokesperson said for CNN. “He actually came to the U.S. from the U.K. as a teen and overstayed his visa.”
21 Savage, whose real name is Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, was arrested in Atlanta, along with other three people, allowing ICE to discover his immigration status.
It appears that he arrived in the United States in 2005, when he was 12, with a one-year visa.
His lawyer is currently working on a solution to get him out of detention and clear up any other misunderstanding that led to this entire situation.
