Diddy received an Industry Icon award this weekend at the Grammys and had took over 50 minutes to talk about black hip-hop artists.
“Truth be told, hip-hop has never been respected by the Grammys. Black music has never been respected by the Grammys,” the mogul said, among many other things.
As a side note, throughout his career, he was nominated 13 times and received an award three times.
We don’t know if he had a specific reason to offer such a long speech because otherwise, he was honored multiple times at the Awards ceremony, as mentioned above. And taking almost an hour for a speech is something, even though it happened at Clive Davis’ pre-grammy event, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Right now, we’re just wondering how those in the audience felt…
