Yes, it’s official! From now on, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be able to call themselves “royal” anymore.
Accoriding to one of the couple’s spokespersons, despite their hopes to turn Sussex Royal into a brand – and, obviously, obtain profit – they had to accept Queen Elizabeth and the Buckingham Palace’s decision to drop their titles.
“While The Duke and Duchess are focused on plans to establish a new non-profit organisation, given the specific UK government rules surrounding use of the word ‘Royal’, it has been therefore agreed that their non-profit organisation, when it is announced this Spring, will not be named Sussex Royal Foundation,” the statement said.
With this decision, Harry and Meghan will also begin working towards their financial independence, as they won’t receive any financing as they used too either.
