The rapper, through venture capital firm Marcy Venture Partners, finished a $1 million seed funding round with a company that makes vegan cookies.
Partake Foods is a start-up specialized in foods that don’t contain some of the top allergens.
This isn’t the first time when Jay Z backs up a plant-based compay, as he recently also invested in Impossible Foods, alongside many other celebrities, helping them raise a total of $300 million.
As for the decision to invest in a vegan company, it’s not something new. Him and wife Beyonce co-won 22 Days Nutrition, a company that wants to make people commit to a vegan challenge, lasting 22 days. Now that’s something you don’t hear about any rapper!
