As promised, we’re back with more details on R. Kelly’s fate, as the singer, currently facing sex-trafficking in federal court, was denied bail.
A judge from Brooklyn denied his request, as his team of lawyers asked for Kelly to be freed while awaiting trial. The main argument was that he doesn’t have any money to flee, even if he wanted this.
On the other side, it appears that he has enough money for anything, as he was also accused of stashing music royalties in somebody else’s account.
The judge noted that R. Kelly is accused of crimes involving “very young girls”, while the proposed home detention “certainly would do nothing to deter him” from attempting to intimidate witnesses.
His trial is set to start on May 18, 2020, and is expected to last for around three wrrks.
