On Friday, Pink announced that she had tested positive for coronavirus, but also donated a total of $1 million to two emergency funds.
The singer revealed this on Twitter, adding that she and her three-year-old son started showing symptoms two weeks ago and took a test through a primary care physician. In the meantime, her family was isolated at home, while she remained alongside her son, until they were declared cured.
“It is an absolute travesty and failure of our government to not make testing more widely accessible,” Pink wrote on social media.
“This illness is serious and real. People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities.”
